Fancy Something Different?
One of the biggest differences between FPL and Sky is the quality of the official prizes – The overall winning prize is £50k but the rest of the prizes aren’t too shabby as you can see from the image below.
Even better news is the fact that these prizes are far more achievable with only a fraction of the number of players in this game. There were less than 350k teams last season which is roughly 3% of the number of players compared to FPL and in this game you can have multiple teams so the real number of players is even lower.
In terms of the major differences between formats there are a few big ones, including the fact you can make transfers within a GW and you can change your captain each and every match day so, if you are up for trying a new game this could be the one for you. The player pricing is much more even and the scoring system is really cool too as it makes far more players good picks. Oh and no silly deadlines, its just the first KO of each day so you get to see lineups and can make decisions off the back of that. The Sky game has been described as “the fantasy managers fantasy game.”
Everyone who enters a team is also eligible to win a 10k prize in a random draw after GW1. Put simply this format is more rewarding.

For our mini league we have decided on a small entry fee of £5 per team, so we all have a bit of interest, which goes into the FFUK prize pot. Prizes will be paid out as follows. 1st 75% of pot, 2nd 25% of pot.
It may be helpful to start up a little WhatsApp group so we can chat tactics, if that would be helpful, particularly when looking at planning transfers.
The idea is that we get a few to try the game out this season before launching a bigger mini league next time round, if successful.
HELP, I STILL DON’T GET IT
If you haven’t played this format before or still aren’t sure how it all works then the guys at PlanetFPL did a really good podcast recently with an introduction to the Sky game, you can check it out here. They also do a weekly pod, usually on a Wednesday where they discuss the latest goings on in the game – defo worth a listen to keep you up to speed (today’s is really good with Luke). I can also recommend the Sky FF app, unlike FPL!
