Each season we take 5 of our favourite FFUKers, and get them to predict what is going to happen in the Premier League and in FPL in the forthcoming season.

This season we are changing it up slightly and each day its a different predictor that will be telling you what they think is in store. 5 Premier League predictions and 6 for FPL. Let’s go.
Next up its Justin McCarthy, a liverpool fan from our Emerald Isle. Not a fan of Declan Rice. With a best FPL finish of 7k, check out his predictions below:
Q1. What will the top 4 be at the end of this season?
1st Man City / 2nd Liverpool / 3rd Arsenal / 4th Man Utd
Q2. What will the bottom 3 be at the end of the season?
20th Luton / 19th Sheff Utd / 18th Bournemouth
Q3. Who wins the golden boot (top goal scorer) in the PL this season?
“Haaland, who else?”
Q4. Which team will do much better than expected this season?
Expectations are high at this time of year so it’s hard to pick anyone so i might as well say my team, Liverpool, who i expect to bounce back this season.
Q5. Which team will do worse than expected?
Similarly you could make the argument that everyone will do worse than expected with high expectations. Never the less, lets say:
Spurs – I think there is an assumption they have hired a good manager and given time he’ll come good but how much time will they be willing to give if he starts slow and it takes players time to adapt to his tactics as seems to be expected. And how will he react to the scrutiny. Throw in the uncertainty around Harry Kane, the fact they’ve not been setting transfer window alight, the owner under investigation for inside trading and its all well very spurs. I could see it all ending in tears… again.
See also Wolves, I think we’ve gotten used to Wolves being a mid table team but without Moutinho and Neves and the good version of Raul Jiminez they may struggle unless there are more Portuguese gems waiting to be discovered.
Q6. Who will be the top scoring GK this season?
Flekken – if he can hold his place Brentford allow plenty of shots from distance which you’d expect your keeper to save but the 4th fewest big chances making Raya last season’s top scorer. The only downside is Flekken may not be much good!
Q7. Who will be the top scoring defender this season?
TAA if he plays out of position he should really rack up the attacking returns. The only downside is Liverpool will probably still be leaky so not many clean sheets.
Q8. Who will be the top scoring midfielder this season?
Salah, he usually is!
Q9. Who will be the top scoring forward this season?
Haaland, he usually is.
Q10. Which player will be the surprise package next season?
Son, despite what ive said about spurs he should thrive under the new manager with or without Kane. Im hoping he makes a mockery of his 9m price.
Q11. Which player will be the biggest disappointment this season?
Martinelli – With increasing competition and a higher price tag its hard to justify him un our teams from the start this year, see also Odegaard.
