GW25 REVIEW – 3 Captains & a Funeral

Well, talk about a rollercoaster ride of emotions – this week was enough to make you want to run away.

Triple captain or nah? Big decisions looming like Liverpool and City double-gaming, Liverpool blanking next week, Erling Haaland juggling a funeral between matches, Salah and KDB making comebacks, and even Arsenal, the striker-less wonders, scoring 6 last week! Plus, Darwin Nunez being, well, Darwin Nunez. And let’s not forget the looming big blank gameweek staring us down like a disapproving teacher.

And in the midst of all this chaos, is Hugh Grant even alive?

These are the burning questions that keep us up at night, or at least keep us from coherent pre-work conversation at 7 am. Poor wife, she knew what she signed up for though, right?

So there I was, thinking I was the Ffuk mastermind with my perfectly planned line-up, boasting 3 Liverpool and 3 City players, all set for the upcoming blank gameweek without even taking a hit. Smug? Oh, absolutely.

But alas, fate had other plans. Just as I was about to pat myself on the back, Jurgen Klopp drops the bombshell: TAA out. Ffuk you Fate, you fickle friend!

The big decisions still remained Triple Captain Haaland or not – through fair means or foul I am doing very well this season (no-one is a surprised as me) and I’m sorry to say I played it safe, the majority were hitting that button and so was I. But come on 2 home games against Brentford and Chelsea the big man would surely bang!

He did not.

Liverpool’s injury saga continued as Darwin was out after 45 mins, Jota with even less minutes but maybe this was good news for the Salah early adopters. Nope he was injured too, leaving us all feeling like we were on the Titanic, slowly but surely sinking. But hey, at least we got to witness some high-scoring madness from Liverpool, Arsenal, and Brighton And watching Tottenham lose is always a cherry on top.

In the end, as we sift through the wreckage, there’s solace in knowing we’re all in this sinking boat together. And hey, shout-out to Saka (my hero) and Walker for saving my fantasy team’s dignity.

How did your team fare amidst the chaos?

Frustratingly Ten Hag seems to have found a way to win despite being rubbish and playing terrible football, Rashford still looks a shadow of his former self but Hojlund looks like a proper player and is starting to adapt. who’s thinking of bucking the trend and bringing him in?

5 Teams made it into the 100 club and the table is starting to look concerning for yours truly, former champion Bakes and his traditionally named Red 5 (6th) looks like he is hitting form at the right time and is on the verge of the top 5 with the perennial challenger Steve Cronin (14th) striding purposefully into the top 20. Big shout to Damo too with his charges Chilwell & Enjoy (16th) smashing their way into the top 20 like a cocaine-fuelled rhino at a pottery convention.

Its that sad time of the week where wave goodbye to our latest victim in the Conts. Sorry Phil Richards but Thorncliffe Thursday are the latest to fall. Not triple captaining this week was brave and sadly the final nail in your coffin this week. 63 is a huge score to go out on! Unlucky but it has been a pleasure. On the other side of the coin we have Mark Leatham and Ben Carter breathing a sigh of relief as they life to fight another day what a precious thing a single point can be!

That’s all for this week, i hope you are all prepped for the blank games week I’m expecting a high hitting week!

One Love
