GW29 REVIEW – Losing my Reguilon

WELCOME TO THE GW29 REVIEW – LOSING MY REGUILON

Consider this
Consider this the hint of the century
Consider this the slip
That brought me to my knees, failed
What if all these fantasies come
Flailing around
Now I’ve said too much.

Poignant words from Mr. Stipe indeed which anyone on a free hit this week will certainly have felt the pain, as after just 12 mins, when Sergio Regulion -3 (minus 3) lost his head and gave away a penalty, also denying a clear goal scoring opportunity and received his marching orders. All the weeks of planning and strategizing were in tatters before some of the players had even broken much of a sweat. The signs were ominous for the what lay ahead. There might have only been four fixtures this GW, but that was still enough to bring us to our knees losing our faith in the cult/religion that is Fantasy Premier League. What hurt you more – The minus 4 hit for Ivan Tony? His only contribution a yellow card. That was a gamble that certainly didn’t pay off.

What about the Son blank? We can’t put that one him though as that’s the curse of the most transferred in player doing it’s thing in 23/24. (watch out Salah owners for GW30!) Or maybe Maddison hitting the post? Luton players with 24 shots cleared off the line?

It wasn’t all bad though. As Chris Wood (9) (insert gag here) opened the scoring in what was supposed to be a high scoring game. He was my one differential that actually paid off and I was especially happy to see him grab the 3 bonus points.

The real winners were the Muniz (13) owners as a lot of these seemed to be managers who actually brought him on a FT as opposed to a FH, due to his low cost and bench-ability. A 13 pointer and a fixture to come against Sheff Utd at home. Credit where it’s due, a lovely move.

So what does this all mean for us FFUKERS?

Mark T is still out in front but a paltry 16 points has seen his lead at the top curtailed to just 8 points.

The one bright light of the FH this week is that you no longer have to look at this bunch of donkeys (exc Son & Watkins) in your team next week. Unless of course you used transfers to bring them in!!!!

Speaking of chips, let’s see what the state of play is across the FFUK mini league.

And how do we line up against the rest of the game?

If you got above 20 (after any hits) this week, you’ll have done better than average.

The average Free Hit score in the top 10k was 19.42.

THE CONTS

CONTSĀ – what a week to navigate the costs league. At least hits don’t count. However Anthony Gill, played conservative and just made the 1 transfer, bringing in James Maddison resulting in a total of 12 points. Having played his FH in GW16, he really was up against it. A Pain in Diaz indeed.

Watch out for next week, as its the final eviction event of the season…

That’s all from me legends, thanks for reading. I would like to say, that was just a dream, just a dream, dream, but know that really was the lowest average GW ever recorded in. FPL – 12 points. If you managed a green arrow, sit back, enjoy the IB and on to the next one.
