WELCOME TO THE GW33 REVIEW – NATIONAL EXPRESS
On a weekend where The Grand National takes over and Liverpool and Everton aren’t allowed to play at home on a Saturday it is fitting title for this weeks review. And for that reason the song of choice is National Express by Divine Comedy.
The Gameweek got underway in the usual fashion with FFUKers losing their heads in search of early team news. What would Pep give away? Is Foden going to make it or what? More lies from Eddie Howe per chance? Who do I put in ahead of Liverpools big double in GW35. (and obvs a nice easy home fixture against Palace!)
The action got underway with the aforementioned Eddie Howe’s Thoroughbreds taking on the Donkeys from White Hart Lane. A 4-0 demolition ensued. Gordon (17), Schar (13) and Isak (12) all on the scoresheet and taking the 321 bps between them.
And so to the 3 o’clocks:
Brentford vs Sheffield Utd – The only topic of conversation pre match for FFUKers was that Toney (0) was in the stable and there he would stay. Zanka, Reguilon and Flekken the key FPL performers. On a side note Reguilon has scored 17 points in the last 2 GW’s. Just the 20 points more than that 1 week he was in my team then?!
Burnley vs Brighton – Who gives a FFUK. To stick with The National theme let’s put this down as the also rans!
City vs Luton – There was no Foden, City did what City do. Won. Conceded. Standard. Haaland (10) did enough for those who captained him but we did expect a lot more.
A ‘Desmond’ in the last of the 3 o’clocks at the City ground. Cunha (12) top scored with 2 goals and 3 bps. Think we all thought he’d be a non-runner this weekend. Sa (8) also impressed with an assist, 7 saves and 2 bps.
After The National was over and I’d won money on I am Maximus it was time to stick on the late kick off. United travelled to the South Coast to pick up an easy 3 points? Not quite. Another shite performance by United had certain FFUKers calling for ETH’s head. Bruno (15) top scored, Solanke (7) scored, Senesi (8) delighted his owners with 2 assists and 2 bps and Garnacho (4) got the dodgiest of assists and got hauled off at half time.
Sunday started at Anfield. I’ll leave the obvious ‘National’ anthem jibes where they belong! A 0-1 win for the boys from the Palace. Spurious link there somewhere! Mitchell (12), Eze (10) and Andersen (8) excelled from an FPL pov. Salah (2) disappointed the 46 FFUkers who captained him this week. I believe Darwin (2) is still out there and still hasn’t hit the target!!!
Elsewhere on Sunday Fulham rocked up at West Ham, won 0-2 and every FFUker was wanting to know how many points Muniz got. The answer was 2 for the 3rd week in a row. Yes of course that coincides with when I transferred him in!!! Andreas (15) top scored and secured his spot in the team of the week. See below.
Last but not least on Sunday was Villa’s visit to Arsenal. It would seem that Arsenal don’t want to win the title, White (5) the only player who did anything from an FPL perspective. Digne (12) (also in the team of the week) top scored and Ollie Watkins (7) who we all still own obviously?! was also on on the scoresheet. What a finish btw!

Monday Night Football. What can I say. Chelsea beat some team in ‘red’ by 6 goals to nil. Cold Palmer delighted his owners with 26 points and Gusto disappointed with only 6! Fair play to the 8 FFUKers who captained Palmer.
No surprises that those who captained Palmer finished the GW well and 2 of those Fabian Mascoll (my Whos the Daddy mate) and David Harrison finished level on 103 points with the boss, the aforementioned Chris Galloway. Well done boys. Enjoy parading round the winners circle!
Last but not least we end with the Conts. Who is getting a horses head in their bed? Who is getting disappeared? That ‘honour’ falls to James Simpson this week who closed out the GW on an above average 62 but not enough to stay in the most unforgiving of leagues! Just 5 remain…
