GW36 REVIEW – Lets go crazy

Welcome to the Game Week 36 review (with a nod to GW35).

Dearly beloved,

We are gathered here today,

To get through this crazy FPL season.

So let me begin…

After three double game weeks, all the chip strategies and a whole host of content on how to score the most points, it was a mild mannered single gameweek that turned out to be the best scoring week. If you are high in the ranks and scored less than 95pts you probably had a red arrow! Fortunately, I am not one of those people (it’s a small win and I’m taking it). It just goes to show that you can have all the planning and information and the game will still send you a little bit nuts!

This was the week that Haaland gave us a little reminder that when he is at home and in the mood against lesser opposition it is like God wondered what it would be like to cross Thanos with a T1000. He was inevitable, and he scored 21pts, from his four goals versus Wolves, great news for the 40% of teams in our league who had him as captain.

Next gameweek is the big one. Every year we save our much coveted Bench Boosts for the “big double” that always falls just at the perfect time for players to be rested, given the rest of the season off or just find the manager wants to “give youth a chance”. But still, every year we go crazy for the BB in a double that, like your first crush, doesn’t love you back quite as much as you need it too. So, expect crazy the craziness to continue into next week.

Are we gonna let the elevator bring us down? Oh no, lets go!

GW36 in numbers:

Lets start with the winners. Team of the week this week this week is Mark Storrar‘s Soup Dragons, who amassed a crazy 121pts in a single gameweek via his bench boost. An honorable mention must go to Kevin O’Reilly, who was the biggest point scorer of GW35.

Our league stays very tight with just 32pts separating the top 3 with a late charge from Bakes! Mark Tarbox remains on top with 2,410pts and is just two two loooooong game weeks away. The league picture looks like this currently:

With the big bench boost double coming up, it is probably worth having a look at the best gameweek scores so far. You can Click here to see the latest best scores, but Mark Storrar has moved into the top three after this weeks score.

  • 1st – GW34 Joseph Colliass 170 points
  • 2nd – GW36 Mark Storrar 121points
  • 3rd – GW20 Steven Landsborough 120 points

The CONTS league is down to just the two.

Simon Chatten – Hadouken versus David Isaac – The Invertibles

After Jason Beal – The InvinciBeals went in GW35 and Connor Parkes – Go Eze Son Mee went out this week after scoring only 86 points. Best of luck boys, may the best CONT win.

Thats all for me, other than to say I’ve gone all in now. Sod this take it easy and cautious approach. I’m taking hits, not going with the obvious captain and I may even start drinking before deadline! Have a good week, good luck all, its BB time so Lets Go Crazy!
