It is now just a few hours until the this year’s END OF SEASON DO which means the first ever FFUK 5-a-side tournament and I can now reveal the players who will be gracing the hallowed turf of Shoreditch Powerleague.
GOOD NEWS We can still accommodate players if you can play or if not then please join us for food and drinks at Dinerama afterwards.
ON THE DAY all players should meet at 3pm at Shoreditch Powerleague, Off Braithwaite St, Bethnal Green Rd, Shoreditch, London E1 6GJ, nearest train Shoreditch High St overground or tube Old Street (15 min walk). Pete and I will then choose the teams once everyone is assembled and the aim will be to try and record at least some of the game so we can share some highlights and best goals of the day!
The venue will provide bibs and a ball. Players just need to bring astro boots/trainers, socks, shorts and a top!
THE PLAYERS
Chris Galloway – King of the backheel, nowadays can’t manage much more
Pete Cronin – Two footed tackles have always been his specialty
Duncan Hannigan – Will he be more Mo Salah or Mo from the Simpsons?
James Page-Chatton – in his own words “lethargic has been but back in the day was a fox in the box!”
Steve Coffen – Big tall, classy centre back (or at least that is what I have been told, i expect him to be in full spurs kit whatever happens, probably all night)
Paul Baker – His best years are behind him but he knows how to dish out a good hammering
Sam Blake – will his timing be as good as he is with the team news?
Alex Sadlier – Blakey’s wingman, flying down the wing
Grant Lawrie (injury doubt) tore his calf in preparation for this but we will patch him up/inject him with something and at the very least he can go in goal/ref/provide the magic sponge.
Mark Tarbox – he will have brightly coloured boots if nothing else
Rob Harding – The running man, I think I may need him on my team!
Dan Calabrese – the man who can do everything, except perhaps play football 😉
These men will have the honour of competing in the first ever FFUK 5 a-side competition!
We aim to finish playing around 5pm, there are facilities to shower/change before we head to nearby Dinerama where we will stay until close (around midnight). Dinerama is a cool night street food market with a variety of Food and Drinks available to suit all appetites! We also hope to have a few very special FFUKers joining us for the evening session, including the new league champion, who Pete has a shiny trophy to give to!
