With the end of the February Gamemonth so concludes the latest round of the FFUK Cup – in this case the 5th Round – the Round of 16. Most of the ties went down to the wire. Blank Gameweek 28 was a horror show for many, but how would it affect the FFUK Cup? Well let’s see shall we? Here’s how it played out:

Manager | Points | Manager | Points | Winner | Diff | |
Andrew Downie | 237 | vs | Paul Baker | 238 | Paul Baker | 1 |
Justin Mc Carthy | 235 | vs | Dave Windsor | 207 | Justin Mc Carthy | 28 |
John Willson | 195 | vs | Gregory Lyford | 175 | John Willson | 20 |
Shane Newton | 188 | vs | Stuart Allen | 199 | Stuart Allen | 11 |
Ashley Cox | 192 | vs | Trevor Dennison | 203 | Trevor Dennison | 11 |
Marc Speer | 211 | vs | Jamie Stephens | 227 | Jamie Stephens | 16 |
Sam Blake | 210 | vs | Paul Browne | 225 | Paul Browne | 15 |
Jamie Stewart | 209 | vs | Vince .Siracusa | 207 | Jamie Stewart | 2 |
There were some very close calls, none more so than yours truly’s toight toight toight single point victory over Andrew Downie. Andrew valiantly played his free hit to overcome a nine point deficit going into the final week, but it wasn’t to be. Vince Siracusa had a double shocker this week – knocked out of the Champions League AND out of the FFUK Cup – and by a slender two-point margin to JDS.
Fellow members of the WhatsApp group Justin McCarthy, Stu Allen, Trevor Dennison and Paul Browne all progressed, to be joined by John Willson and Jamie Stephens.
These eight managers will contest the quarter-finals to be played in the March Gamemonth. March is a short month with just three Gameweeks: 29, 30 and 31 as there’s an International Break at the end of the month. Managers will need to be on their mettle though as Gameweek 31 will be a blank – and navigating this one could be tricky …. chips will no doubt come into play as managers decide whether to stick or twist!
The quarter-final draw will take place on Wednesday evening – look out for notices from the Chairman for exact info. And you can find all the details of this and previous rounds on this Google Sheet.
We will round-up the Milk Plate in another post, but there is a Google Sheet for that too available here. These two Google Sheets can always be found on the relevant cup pages on the site.
Good luck to all still involved in both Cups.
Cheers,
Bakes
