CUPDATE – Semi-Finals Latest (GW33+)

As the Gameweeks come thick and fast under Project Restart I’ll be writing short posts to update the community on how things stand.

The FFUK Cup and Milk Plate semi-finals are being held over four Gameweeks, from 32+ through 35+. The standings after the second of those four weeks are as follows:

FFUK Cup:

  • Paul Baker 106 vs 107 John Willson
  • Justin McCarthy 128 vs 140 Jamie Stephens

Milk Plate:

  • Nick Johns 141 vs 173 Pete Cronin
  • Ben Carter 153 vs 161 James Downie

In the FFUK Cup match 1 tighter than Pep’s sweaters with John Willson (82) maintaining a very slender lead in a low scoring FFUK Cup contest vs Paul Baker (1). In the other semi, despite taking a hit (and those four points being subtracted from his score) Jamie Stephens (6) extended his lead over Justin McCarthy (3) to 12 points. With Justin playing his bench boost in GW34+ though this tie is still very much in the balance.

Over in the Milk Plate, and Pete Cronin (18) has taken a firm grip on proceedings in the top bracket. A mammoth 173 points scored over the last two gameweeks has seen him establish a commanding 32 point lead over Nick Johns (9). It’s worth noting that while Nick’s cumulative score of 141 is the lowest among the Milk Plate semi-finalists, it would be enough to be leading either of the contests in the FFUK Cup! Ah, the vagaries of cup football. Over in the bottom bracket James Downie (113) has seen his lead over Ben Carter (2) cut to just 8 points, helped in part by James taking a 4 point hit.

Ties continue for the next two weeks: Gameweeks 34+ and 35+

The FFUK Cup draw in full can be found on this Google Sheet, while the version for the Milk Plate can be found here.

Good luck to all still involved in both Cups.

Cheers,

Bakes

  1. Hi, thanks for the update. Just checking if transfer hits are deducted in the Cup. I am in the semi and I believe Paul Baker, my opponent, took a -4 hit this week. I am not sure on rules here?
