As I write on the evening of Thursday 23rd September, Gameweek 6 is almost upon us. As we all gaze longingly ahead to GW7 and the almost-mythical Chelsea fixture turn, our FPL thoughts focused on our transfer policy and the Pep-like roulette going on at Stamford Bridge – we have a more immediate concern. Qualification for the first round of the FFUK Cup
As I detailed in my previous missive, because there’s more than 256 of us we need a qualifying round. In this case a draw is needed to select 24 unlucky FFUKers to fight for 12 places in the Cup. The losers will still get a second chance in the Milk Plate of course, but will not be able to contest the FFUK Cup first round proper.
Last year we started using an online generator for the draws for the early rounds of the cup (to save interminable videos of managers drawing names from “hats” for 45 minutes) so I have used the same online tool to conduct this draw.

All 268 managers were entered and drawn into groups of 24. Group 1 would comprise the list of those needing to qualify with 1 playing 2, 3 playing 4 etc. That draw has been conducted with the following qualification draw resulting:

Winners will be determined by their scores in Gameweek 6. In the event of a tie in the cups we use a countback method, so in this case winners will be determined by their score in Gameweek 5. If this is still a draw, then Gameweek 4 etc.
PLEASE NOTE: Hits WILL be subtracted from your Gameweek score.
Winners will progress to the FFUK Cup first round proper (to be contested during the October Gamemonth), losers will be entered into the Milk Plate, qualification for which will take place in Gameweek 11.
