TUESDAY TABLE & GW27 REVIEW

Quick fire turnaround this week as GW28 starts tonight. Are you ready? Good then lets begin.

Chelsea won back to back games in the league for the first time this season and having watched the highlights it needed the help of an officiating error to do this. I’m still unimpressed, but I will cover this in a different article. Stoke put Aston Villa to the sword with the same 2-1 scoreline.

Arsenal lost again showing their mental fragility once more, losing 3-2 to a patched up Man Utd. Sanchez once again failed to find any form. West Brom beat Palace by the same score line in a better game than most predicted. Leicester showed far more promise, whilst not playing at their best, beating Norwich with a late goal and very fortunate Vardy assist (below) saving the day for many of us. A sign of champions? Spurs also reminded us of their title credentials dismantling Swansea after going a goal down and by most reports Fabianski was MOTM.

Elsewhere West Ham were fortunate to beat a plucky Sunderland 1-0, Watford and Bournemouth played out a bore draw.

Everton, Liverpool, Man City and Newcastle all missed out on fixtures this GW because of the League Cup Final.

This week’s Dream Team (above) features a few familiar faces but not that many. Particularly the frontline is a clear indicator that the favoured forwards were not on fire this week. However, a star was born when Marcus Rashford stepped in to replace the injured Anthony Martial in midweek, bagging a brace in the Europa League, before doing the same again (with an assist thrown in for good measure) against Arsenal. Time will tell whether the lad will go on to great things but he couldnt have had a better start. In FPL over 95000 have transferred him in. Do we have any new owners in the FFUK league?

Arnautovic has been a somewhat frustrating pick this season but right now he is the 5th best FPL midfielder and he rewarded his owners with a brace and max bonus against Villa. Arnie is back. So what better way to celebrate with his greatest quotes. Enjoy.

Elsewhere it was a good week for Leicester defenders, in particular Christian Fuchs, who scooped up the max bonus. Charlie Daniels also maxed out on bonus. Ivanovic scored the winner late on for Chelsea which meant a couple of extra BPs. Ozil & Michael Antonio both continued their strong recent form but the big question is how it all went down in the FFUK league? Lets have a look at the league table below and delve a little further…

The top 2 remain the same. Check out the latest video to see a more in depth look at them.

It was a low scoring week all round with only 3 teams breaking the 60 point barrier.

Richard Harrison (3rd) was the best scorer in the Top 10 with 61 points. His Mahrez (c) pick didnt quite work but he had plenty elsewhere to rely on incLuding Ozil and Ogbonna. It was Richard’s Valencia pick that made his week though, Enner missing out for West Ham meant that Arnie came in to Richard’s midfield – a useful extra 15 points Rich, if a little lucky. Well played either way!

Jamie Stewart (39th) fared even better with 66 points. Vardy (c) was a poular pick and his assist was as fortunate as it gets after the ball just touched his studs before Ulloa’s finish. Many of us were relieved at that one (me included).  Arnie, Ozil and Daniels did the rest for JDS.

The best GW score this week though goes to Stan Maniak (47th) with 68 points. Arnie (c) was an inspired pick and by far the best captain pick in the league. Bravo Stan! Who you going for this week?

arnie

Mark Tarbox (4th) also had a strong week with Ozil (c) providing a great platform for his team, although Arnie definitely helped contributing to Mark’s points. Mark is a big Arsenal fan so the question is will he be like his team and crumble under the pressure as we now get to squeaky bum time?

Ozil

On the other side of the coin there were plenty who didn’t have such profitable weeks. Loz Kelly (7th) dropped in the league because of his 30 points. Vardy (c) was an ok choice, but the rest of his squad let him down badly and then there were no shows because of the missing fixtures.

Adam Howarth (42nd) shares the wooden spoon. His 30 points came courtesy of Mahrez (c) and Ozil’s points but again Adam had no shows and injuries to deal with.

Have Loz & Adam taken their eyes off the ball? Can their teams recover?

That’s it for this GW, but fear not another begins this evening. See below for the schedule, the deadline is 18:45hrs. I am off to check on the latest team news then need to decide my captain.
