HAPPY NEW YEAR HEROES!
With little time to spare we have a lot to get through. In fact GW22 is already underway, our first double of the season. The deadline passed at 11.30 and with fuzzy heads we go into battle once again. But there is even more on the line as the Cups have gone up a notch. Do you want to know what happened in all the December ties in both the Challenge Cup and the FFUK Cup? Well luckily for you Pete’s CUPDATE has all the details. Congrats to all those through to the next round and commiserations to all those who went out. Just this morning Pete carried out the FFUK CUP 2nd round draw and there were some absolute classics thrown up. Check the video below to find out who plays who!

For the full 2nd round FFUK CUP draw see below, and the FFUK CUP page has been updated. Some absolutely monstrous ties in here including The Stewart Brothers/Right Said Fred going up against each other in a mouthwatering match-up. I have my eye on you Mike Cowans-Kebby (52nd)!
THE FFUK CUP DRAW IN FULL
For those of you in the Challenge Cup check out the 3rd round draw which again throws up some beauties. This one was seeded so there is no draw video. Perhaps the highlight is last years league winner Nick Johns vs JPC. Once again the Challenge Cup page has been updated with all the details.
CHALLENGE CUP 3rd ROUND DRAW IN FULL
We obviously need a tune for the week and this week it is all about HEROES. So let us go with David Bowie’s classic. A year since we lost the legend. Seems fitting. Plus we have plenty of Heroes that have made it through in the cup. January’s ties are already underway.
Ok next up it’s the bread and butter of the FFUK league. For some the Cups are a luxury, for others they are now left focusing on their league form so lets investigate the latest up and down the FFUK league, focusing on the HEROES of course!
THE FFUK TOP 50 AFTER GW21*
*Ignore the zero gw scores, image was taken after deadline
Our top two have opened up a little gap at the top. Jamie Stewart’s (1st) heroic form continues. He was in fact the top scoring manager for the month of December with a frankly FFUKing fantastic 494 points. Pete has updated the MANAGER OF THE MONTH page. It doesnt end there for the rest of us. Jamie’s 111 last week was also the best GW Score so far this season, once again Pete has updated the BEST GW SCORES page with all the details. This is the man to beat. He must be strutting around his house right now, with Right Said Fred booming singing “I’m too sexy for this FFUKing Shirt!”
Dan McBrearty (2nd) will not let him rest though, right behind him, and also has incredible recent form. Dan’s 71 points was in fact the 6th highest score last week and he finished runner up for Manager of the Month in December. Close but no cigar. However Dan is best placed to make a move on the leader.
Highest score in the league for the week went to Mark Leatham (11th) with a score of 80 points. Salah (14 x 2) captain was key. In fact as demonstrated in Steve’s image below, 58 FFUKers went with the Egyptian Messi and it proved decisive as none of the other most popular options fired.

As we celebrate the HEROES amongst us lets find out who the top 3 risers are in the FFUK League. Fair play to these 3 who are all starting the new year off in style and will hope their form continues into January:
- Kieran Webb (103rd) rose 27 places after scoring 71 points. My Hero
- Paul Marshall (164th) rose 24 places after scoring 74 points. My Hero
- Kevin Trotter (175th) rose 22 places after scoring 75 points. My Hero
However for every Hero there is a Zero. These 3 fell further than any other FFUKer and their head will be that little bit more achey today. Lets hope an Alka-Seltzer and a couple of transfers can rectify their form:
- James Prebble (100th) fell 25 places after scoring just 30 points. You need a hero
- Steven Sharman (115th) fell 23 places after scoring just 33 points. You also need a hero
- Ben Hudson (117th) fell 23 places after scoring just 32 points. You may well need a hero too!
However one FFUKer who definitely needs something heroic is Amelia Cooper (218th) with just 13 points scored she is the lowest scorer this week!

In all the furore we almost forgot about the Conts mini league. However unfortunately for Mark Ford (148th) we didn’t. He is the man who gets evicted this week after scoring a miserable 28 points. Daz and Coolers survive to fight another day! To be fair Fordy has scraped through on a few occasions recently and predicted his demise several times on the WhatsApp group, his captain Hazard didnt turn up at all and his vice Rashford didnt do much better. Pete has done the honours. JUST 17 REMAIN!
That is it for another gameweek, it was fast, it was frantic, and its FFUKing going off again. Thanks for reading as always and good luck to everyone in their cup ties (except for Mike Cowans-Kebby of course!
Fingers crossed for a big Double GW!
Cheers
Chris
