WELCOME TO THE
GW14 REVIEW –
SOME MIGHT SAY
“Some might say that sunshine follows thunder”
Merry Christmas to my fellow FFUKers, I hope you are all strapped in and as ready as you can be for the imminent FPL carnage that is the festive season!!
After the knockout lockdown carnage that ensued in GW13, there were a number of us that were bracing ourselves for yet more FPL angst this week.
Alas “Some might say that we should never ponder, on our thoughts today (cause they hold sway over time)”.
Step up Liverpool to remind us all that where form be be temporary class is indeed permanent, no one reminding us more so than the mercurial Mo Salah. The WhatsApp blew up with the early news that the great man was being rested with 59 captains pick managers running for the hills. Not to worry subbed on after 57 mins, 1 point after 67, mins …. 32 in the bag for captained owners by the 90!! Incredible Jeff! The 7-0 demolition job also served to remind the league that Robbo and Trent can never be overlooked with a cleanie and ASS each, gaining 10 & 9 points for owners respectively.
“Some might say we will find a brighter day”
With 79 captained, Bruno owners were praying for any sort of return to minimise the Mo damage to their league positions the Portuguese provider did not let let them down, 34 points scored for those crafty CONTS that backed him to haul! Special mention to goes to McTominay after an inspired performance and an 18 point haul, FFUK ownership …0%
“You made no preparation, for my reputation once again”
As for those who backed neither i can only offer commiserations!!
THE Kings of the GW
An incredible GW for points as can be seen above, with no fewer than 9 FFUKers hitting the 100 CLUB congrats to….. JOSEPH MULHERN (55th) & JAMES SIMPSON (185th) with equal top score of 105!! They were joined by STEVE CRONIN (1st) DARON RUSSELL (4th), JAMES AMAR (49th), HARRY DICKINSON (56th), SAM BLAKE (62nd), ALEX KASSNER (65th), JAMIE STEPHENS (166th) in the 100 club.
The good news is that both Joseph and James have also qualified, as top GW scorers, for the FFUK Champions League!! More to come on this from the Cup Master, Bakes!!

The FFUK league continues to evolve with it becoming a proverbial who’s who of the FFUK world jostling for position at the top of the league!! STEVE CRONIN wrestling back top spot with another excellent GW. Another notable mover is our FFUK top boy CHRIS GALLOWAY moving up into the top 10 (9th).

The 12 CONTS of Christmas has had an incredible start with some extraordinarily high scores meaning trouble!!
“Some might say they don’t believe in heaven, go and tell it to the man who lives in hell”
NEIL GOODWIN (47 points)
SEAN (COOLERS) COLOHAN (66 points)
SCOTT HASSELL (67 points)
and finally the incredibly unlucky JAMES PAGE-CHATTON (JPC) (68 points) thrown out by overall rank as equal next lowest score!!
With another 8 CONTS to go over the next two GWs anything could (and probably will) happen!! GOOD LUCK you CONTS.
“you know what some might say”
With that i wish you all a Merry Christmas and best of luck over this period (loved the Amen Corner analogy).
Cheers
Roni Friel, Southbourne Celtic (73rd)
P.S. Make sure you tune in for the FFUK Christmas Special below
